What you said here, "If all branded accounts were as authentic as you are, we probably wouldn't even be having this conversation", is precisely my point.

If a company is authentic and open and you can follow and feel like you're part of the community then maybe that's all people need. I just don't like the idea of generalizing all "logo tweets" as bad just because it's a company using a logo for their icon. I 100% agree with you about some accounts not being authentic and that bothers me as much as I'm sure it bothers you. I think the issue is not whether or not a company is tweeting with a logo as their icon, but whether or not that organization is real and authentic and part of the conversation.

My immediate reaction on reading many different posts and tweets this afternoon about this topic was that they were all completely right and I considered that I should change the @psutheatre account but then I stopped to think about what I want those accounts to be, and still allow people to choose who they want to follow and I began to rethink it all over again. I think that differing points of view are exactly what keep us moving, changing, and adapting in this continually shifting medium. If we all keep blinders on and keep doing what we feel is right without listening to other opinions we'll end up a pretty closed-minded group of people who stop being innovative and exciting.

I love what you've said. On many points.
I also respectfully disagree. On some points.

My initial response is almost as long as your post. I've decided to pull it and think it through a bit more, and post it later. I think it's an important topic, and I want to make sure my words accurately portray my position. In the meantime, I will say this: I completely agree with you about the importance of passion and connection in social media. You are one of the people I have admired that tweet behind an organizational brand, and you do it extremely well. If all branded accounts were as authentic as you are, we probably wouldn't even be having this conversation. :)

In any event, I very much value your point of view, and I'm incredibly grateful you're a part of my social network.

I still feel strongly that 'neutral' feedback is not negative feedback. The ring was not of the quality I expected. It was not "negative" feedback, it was neutral.

I'll have to say, I side with the seller on this one. You didn't even give them a chance to offer you a refund or make other amends before you left neutral feedback - which is still quite harmful to sellers and not really neutral. You really should have at least given him a chance to respond to your disappointment. If they don't care to try to make things right, then a neutral feedback rating would be appropriate, but not a negative as they did send you the item pictured in the photo. Also, I think the ring actually looks better in your photo than in the listing photo.

Thinking of how that must feel is making ME not breathe, so I can totally empathize. I think your attitude about it is great. Either way, you'll be fine. The universe is always conspiring in your favor, so if it's a fresh start you're being given, then maybe that's what you needed.

That being said, I'm gonna say a few silent prayers to the Twitter-lords that your account will be able to be reinstated.

Did you ever consider the fact that Micala while being the person who created the space in the first place as her own artistic endeavor also was paying for a Sim (portion of a Virtual World)?
If you built a real world apartment building (most of which was running in the red) and suddenly it got taken over by an unruly group, what would you do? Make rules? Change it somewhat? Sell it and move on?
Or would you let the unruly people who visited and who not residents rule it.
Think about that.

It IS beautiful. The artist did a great job. Yes, people stare at me too...after a while you forget why they are staring LOL Some people will never "get" what a personal experience getting tattooed is or that they mean something so special to you that you are cool with it being with you and a visual part of you forever. You explain it all so well. Congrats!

This reminds me of a conversation I've been having at an informal lunch with other marketing people int he area. I often feel like the person standing on the outside because I want to be open as who I am as a person, and they are all very reticent about blurring the line between personal and business.
